Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport is the main airport of Chiang Rai Province. It is located in Mueang Chiang Rai District, approximately 8 km from the city center. It provides domestic and international flights and is an important connection point of the North with other cities both in and outside the country. The airport has complete facilities and was named after Her Majesty Queen Srinagarindra or “Somdet Ya” to honor her royal duties in the northern region of Thailand.

Chiang Mai Railway Station
Chiang Mai Railway Station is the central railway station of Chiang Mai Province and the terminus of the Northern Railway of the State Railway of Thailand. It is located near the city center in Mueang Chiang Mai District, on Charoen Mueang Road. The station has a peaceful environment and contemporary Thai design, and it serves as the starting point for tourists and transit to northern Thailand. Driving from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai Railway Station is around 180-190 km long, depending on the route used, and takes about 3-4 hrs.
